Vicki began teaching in 1974 and worked in special education for 35 years. Her activism was born when she discovered the inequities in locality allowances paid to married female teachers and in the allocation of married teaching housing for female teachers.
Vicki took on her first QTU role within a year of beginning teaching, going on to serve as Branch President, QTU Executive member between 1992 and 2009, AEU Executive member, chair of the QTU Special Education Committee and member of the Promotions and Evaluation and Educational Administrators committees. She was a QTU Trustee for 13 years.
Vicki has also represented the QTU on the Special Education Promotions Panel, the Associate Administrators/Leading Teachers Working Party, the Promotional Appraisement Procedures Working Party, the Applicant Review Panel, the Special Education Review and Implementation Committee, the Promotions Working Party and the Educational Review Committee.
