Time-Use, Time Poverty and Teachers’ Work

Workload reduction has long been and remains a QTU priority. In partnership with the Queensland University of Technology, the QTU has been investigating the impact of workload and work intensification on the teaching profession.

To ensure that discussions with the Department of Education regarding member concerns around work intensification are backed up by current and representative data, a sample of 10,000 QTU members will be asked to participate in a project during Term 3 investigating teachers’ and school leaders’ workload and work intensification in Queensland schools.

The research team have been regular presenters at QTU conferences and area councils. In this short video, Professor Greg Thompson provides an overview of the project.
