Term 4 Women's e-News for QTU Women’s contacts
This term there are two items of interest that you might like to report to branches and Area Councils in your role as a QTU Women’s Contact:
- Superannuation – Quarterly hot topic
- Adora Fertility Group – Special offer for QTU members
Quarterly hot topic: Occupational rating ─ a way to save on your QSuper insurance?
Did you know that you may be able to change the amount you pay for insurance premiums through your QSuper Accumulation account by ”occupationally rating” yourself?
What is an occupational rating?
Applying occupational rating enables you to change how much you pay for insurance to reflect your job or occupation. So, depending on your job, you may pay less or more if you apply an occupational rating.
Why should I apply an occupational rating?
If you're currently working in a role that's considered to be a lower risk than other jobs, applying an occupational rating could mean you pay less for your insurance.
Occupationally rate yourself via Member Online
You could change the insurance premium rates that are charged for your insurance cover by answering some questions about your job in Member Online.
What if I haven’t got access to Member Online?
To register for Member Online, click here or visit memberonline.qsuper.qld.gov.au/login and then click on the option to register. If you have any difficulties with Member Online registration, please give QSuper’s friendly contact centre a call on 1300 360 750.
What if I have a Defined Benefit account?
Occupational rating is not an option for insurance that is provided to Defined Benefit account holders.
Adora Fertility – special invitation to QTU members
The QTU has formed a partnership with Adora Fertility, which has clinics in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane with a focus on making fertility treatments accessible and affordable for all Australians. With telehealth options available, the Brisbane clinic services patients from all over Queensland.
This partnership comes at no cost to the Union. It is an initiative aimed at educating all QTU members about fertility, what services are available through Medicare, plus a special offer to QTU members who may be thinking about accessing fertility services such as egg freezing and IVF.
The offer includes:
- faster service, with a two day wait-time to book your initial consultation
- affordable fertility services
- a discounted rate for egg freezing
- video consultations via telehealth to cater for our members who live in far-away parts of Queensland, as well as those in the south-east corner.
Across Term 4, Adora Fertility will be hosting information sessions for QTU members who want to know more about fertility treatment options and/or the QTU-Adora partnership. These will include how to book a fast-tracked initial consultation, which will be completely bulk-billed for Medicare-eligible patients. The sessions will be run at different times of the day and into the evening to cater for our members.
Please see the attached flyer for more information about dates and content, as well as instructions on how to register for an event. This flyer can also be found on our website (https://www.qtu.asn.au/adora-fertility), along with an article by Dr Oybek Rustamov, which unpacks egg reserve and fertility. Dr Rustamov is a fertility specialist, obstetrician and gynaecologist, and is also the Clinical Director at Adora Fertility in Brisbane.
