Rhonda Wakefield

Rhonda joined the QTU in 1981 and has been actively involved in the Union for more than 30 years, holding workplace, branch, and committee memberships.
She served as a Workplace Rep for 30 years, taking on the role at Thornlands State School, Wellington Point State School, Hilliard State School, and Roadvale State School.
As a school Union Rep, she ensured the school had an active QTU presence, and partnered with other Union Reps to strengthen that presence.
Rhonda was an active member of the Cleveland Branch until taking up duty at Roadvale State School, holding branch positions for 19 years.
She led the branch for 13 years as Branch President, participated in delegations to Members of Parliament, and took part in activist work related to the Your Rights at Work and Gonski campaigns.
She was committed to developing branch activities to engage members in attending branch meetings.
Prior to her retirement, Rhonda spent five years on the QTU’s Education Leaders Committee and served as a Principal Union Rep on Metropolitan West Logan Area Council for four years.
