Scholarship eligibility criteria

- Applicants must be undertaking or preparing to undertake professional development or training or further tertiary education relevant to special education, school leadership or women in education.
- Applicants must complete an application form which will outline how the scholarship funds will be used.
- Applicants will commit to providing the QTU with a brief report at the conclusion of the scholarship period outlining how the scholarship has contributed to their professional development or to their school’s education program.
Eligible members should complete the scholarship application form, which will be considered by a sub-committee of the QTU’s Special Education Committee. The QTU Executive will approve the scholarships for the recommended applicants.
The scholarship was set up in honour of QTU Life Member Roselynne Anderson, who passed away suddenly in 2021 following an unexpected illness.
Roselynne made a significant contribution to the QTU over approximately 30 years. She held various QTU positions and was also a valued and highly regarded member of the AEU National Principals Committee. She joined the QTU’s Special Education Committee in 1992, and was the longest continuously serving member of any QTU standing committee, with close to 30 years of involvement. She was also a member of the Education Leaders Committee, the Women Teachers and Girls Education Committee and QTU Executive, and was also the QTU representative on the Board of the Queensland College of Teachers and played an active role in the Queensland Council of Unions.

Scholarship an honour
"It was an absolute honour to be among the inaugural recipients of the Roselynne Anderson QTU Scholarship. Roselynne had a profound impact on my career from the moment I first met her at a QTU State Council meeting around 2007. She mentored me throughout my journey from classroom teacher to aspiring for and then becoming part of the school leadership team, and I am proud to call her a friend.
"The provision of this scholarship enabled me to attend a leadership course to further develop my skills as a leader, a topic which Roselynne and I often discussed."
