THE PROFESSIONAL AND INDUSTRIAL VOICE OF QUEENSLAND’S TEACHERS AND SCHOOL LEADERS IN STATE SCHOOLS AND TAFE FOR MORE THAN 135 YEARS.

Leadership: New and Aspiring Leaders Toolkit : Information

This course would suit any new or aspiring leader wanting to discover practical, research-based leadership knowledge and skills which have been used effectively in schools all over the world.  Effective educational Leadership is leadership that brings people together to achieve common goals.  Leadership is pointless if the team is not on board, and individual strengths, knowledge and attributes of team-members are not understood and embraced.

This practical workshop builds on a carefully selected repertoire of skills, models and processes that have been tested and refined over many years.  Participants will build an understanding of how to build teams by learning to identify and value the diverse expertise that exists within their school community.  They will discover how new initiatives and leadership decisions can be processed by staff in order to unpack the process of change and why sometimes things get ‘messy’, whilst learning how to work through these difficult stages to get to where they need to be.  There will also be opportunities to model some effective approaches to collaboration and inclusive leadership, which ensure all voices are heard and all stakeholders feel valued.  There will be many opportunities throughout the day to network with colleagues who are at a similar early stage on their leadership journey.
